Donors honor Van Dyke, support 4-H

August 8, 2013

SEDALIA, Mo. — Country music star Leroy Van Dyke was honored at the August 7th State Fair Foundation Dinner — and surprised with a check to support his passion, Youth in Agriculture. The $10,000 donation from Sedalia businessmen will benefit Missouri 4-H and FFA.

For many years, Van Dyke has raised funds for 4-H and FFA by auctioning autographed guitars at Country Gold Tour concerts. Auctioning these one-of-a-kind guitars has allowed Van Dyke, a Missouri 4-H Foundation trustee, to support rural youths. As a former 4-H member, Van Dyke is well aware of the “good work 4-H and FFA do.” He added, “I know the value of the training they give kids. These kids are the future of America.”

Long-time supporters Mike Brown, Ron Ditzfeld, Gary McMullin and Don Weaver are big fans of Van Dyke and winners of several Van Dyke autographed guitars.
