1. 4-H Faculty and Staff Professional Improvement Grant
For the first time ever, funds from the B. W. Harrison gift to the Missouri 4-H Foundation will provide one grant in the amount of $1,000 to any 4-H youth specialist, YPA, or a group of two or more 4-H faculty for a specific professional improvement opportunity.  The late Mr. Harrison, a long-time resident of Cape Girardeau, devoted his life to helping youth and young adults attain a college education and improve themselves in many other ways.

3. Incentive Grant for Programs of Distinction
This year, the Missouri 4-H Foundation is offering cash incentives to 4-H faculty who successfully submit one of their programs to the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service (CSREES) and receive recognition as a 4-H Program of Distinction. Awards will be $500 for an individual’s program or $1,000 for a team program. These grants will be awarded only after CSREES has recognized the faculty member(s) for producing a Program of Distinction.

4.  Kemper and Pioneer Community Service Grant
Thanks to the William T. Kemper Foundation of Kansas City and Pioneer Hi-Bred International, 4-H Community Service Grants are available to 4-H clubs and county 4-H councils again this year. 4-H groups may apply for a matching grant up to $750 for a community service project.

Please encourage your 4-H clubs and councils to involve the youth in completing this grant application. The project should be a youth/adult partnership in planning and implementation.

5.  Kids Helping Kids
Difficult times and disasters can strike everyone. When times are at their worst, it is nice to know that someone cares and wants to offer help. Kids Helping Kids is a program devoted to helping 4-H members and their families in times of need by providing small financial grants to 4-H members who have gone through family emergencies like natural disasters, medical emergencies or fires.  4-H county faculty may request funds on behalf of an individual or family.

Kids Helping Kids is sponsored by the Missouri State 4-H Council and Missouri 4-H Foundation.

6.  New 4-H Club Meeting Kits
To encourage the development of new 4-H clubs, the 4-H Foundation is again offering funds to purchase a basic meeting kit for newly organized clubs. 4-H youth specialists and YPAs may request grant funds to purchase a meeting kit for all new clubs organized after September 1, 2006. The kit includes 4-H and American flags, 4-H pledge and motto banners and a meeting gavel. This is an excellent tool to help new 4-H clubs get off to a good start.

(available to SE extension region only)
The Missouri 4-H Foundation provides $1,000 annually from the B. W. Harrison endowment for adult volunteer leader training in the SE extension region. Mr. Harrison spent most of his career in SE Missouri and strongly valued quality leader training. This training program is coordinated on a regional basis by 4-H faculty and staff from the SE region.

Back again by popular demand, the 4-H Foundation is offering regional grants to cover a portion of the expenses for 4-H volunteers who serve as chaperones to the State 4-H Teen Conference, Kansas City Global Conference, State 4-H Citizenship Forum and State 4-H Congress. These funds are offered as an incentive to 4-H youth specialists and YPAs to recruit adult volunteers to chaperone and participate in these four state 4-H events.
