Theater Arts Q&A with Derek

What interested you in Theater Arts?

You can be a totally different person while on stage, and if you do not get into character you will not do well.

What do you like most about it?

I like dressing up...but not in any girl outfits.
(Note: Any youth with photos of Derek in a "girl outfit" are encouraged to contact the State 4-H Council!)

What is your advice for 4-H'ers who are interested in Theater Arts?

Try your school to see how their theater arts program is. If they do not have one, ask around town to see if you could just watch a minor production and decide if you want to get involved.

What is a goal you have for future Theater Arts experiences?

I could hopefully direct a play or help produce one, from writing it to seeing it on stage.
