4-H Photo Corps

The 4-H Center for Youth Development, in partnership with Rural Missouri*, is pleased to announce the start of Photo Corps 2008!  The Photo Corps team of 12-18 yr old 4-H'ers are roaming Missouri to communicate messages about this year's theme, “Rural Living,” depicting rural living in Missouri through their own personal lens.

Rural Missouri

Each month, Photo Corps members submit 4-6 photos depicting rural living to the State 4-H Office.  These photos are shared with Rural Missouri, and at least one photo from each team member is selected each month to be displayed in the Photo Corps Gallery at the Missouri 4-H web site.

Photo Corps members will also have at least one photo featured in their local Rural Missouri monthly publication between February and December.  In addition, members will be invited to attend an optional summer event in Columbia, where they will meet professionals in the field of photography, get individual feedback on tips and techniques, meet other youth with similar interests and learn about photography-related careers.  Finally, at the end of the year the top photos from each district will be selected by the Rural Missouri editors and featured in the statewide section of the publication.
