Youth Civic Leaders Summit

The 3rd Annual Youth Civic Leaders Summit was held March 7-9, 2008 at Windermere Conference Center near Roach, Missouri.  108 youth and adult team members participated in the Summit, with the theme of "Finding and Using Your Voice in the World."

Highlights included hot beverages and live jazz at the 4-H Cafe, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens training, peer-led workshops, Team Talent Showcase, and traditional dance.  Teams also participated in a World Cafe conversation series, followed by action planning for youth-adult partnerships in their communities.

Boone County Jr. Leaders served as Summit youth hosts and led team energizers.  Mizzou 4-H members led team-building time, emceed the talent showcase, and facilitated team planning.

Tentative dates for the next year's Summit are March 6-8, 2009.
