What is WHEP? This should answer many of your questions about the State Wildlife event. (PDF) IMPORTANT: Coaches/Students, effective Feb. 15, the Wildlife Foods Activity for the State Contest will change to correspond with the changes in the national event. Disregard previous wildlife foods charts. Download and use the NEW Foods Activity info, which is Region specific. (at left) Also, senior age division youth should study the Wildlife Management Plan information (at left) as the revised format will be used. It will be a written plan only – no oral presentation. Though the state 4-H Wildlife Mangement Contest is a competitive “judging” event open to all Missouri 4-H members, it is conducted as a learning experience for novices. There is no requirement for enrollment in the Wildlife Project. Youth may participate as a county team of 3 or as an individual. Pre-register by April 1 Divisions: · Junior (ages 8-13 years) · Senior (14-19 years) · Lunch provided Wildlife Management Contest 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. Check-in 9:30 Introduction – Explanation of day’s activities Event begins Noon Lunch 3:30 approximate time of conclusion · Junior and Senior age division (all ages) · Compete as Individual and/or County Teams · Advance to National Contest –Stillwater, OK –July 22-27 Register as an individual.
