Latino/Hispanic Outreach

In Missouri, there are 178,421 Latino/Hispanics with 71,105 children ages 0-19.  This population has increased 70% in just 7 years. 
(Population estimates by State and Age)

The Latino/Hispanic Children, Youth and Families Outreach, was formed to provide 4-H youth development programming for these youth and their families.

Objectives

  • Develop and implement programs
  • Provide academic leadership and expertise
  • Provide leadership for faculty, staff, volunteers, youth and stakeholders in reaching Hispanic/Latino

Goals

  • Identify the communities with high concentrations of Latino/Hispanic populations
  • Identify regional staff working with this population
  • Identify stakeholders
  • Create partnerships
  • Develop programs that will meet needs
  • Create professional development opportunities
  • Create and plan an exchange program for staff and youth
