Missouri 4-H military programs

The purpose of Missouri 4-H Military Programs is to support military youth with positive youth development through new and existing 4-H programs on and off installations while providing programming for all audiences about the military and their families.

Background
The National 4-H Headquarters at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture has several partnerships in place to extend the exciting world of 4-H to U.S. military youth around the world. The goal is for military youth to become involved in 4-H and to be able to continue their 4-H work wherever they move when their parents are transferred or deployed.

State 4-H Military Liaisons have been named in each state to support the work that NIFA 4-H is doing with the U.S. Army Child and Youth Services and the U.S. Air Force Family Member Programs, as well as to reach out to the Army and Air National Guards and Reserve Units.

Counties with Installation Based Programs
Missouri is home to two military installations. Both installations actively participate in 4-H programming as part of the 4-H Military Partnership.

Fort Leonard Wood, Pulaski County
Whiteman Air Force Base, Johnson County
