COLUMBIA, Mo.– Kristy Eggleston-Wood of Scotland County was named a 2014 Missouri 4-H Foundation Naomi Crouch Leadership awardee on March 14 in Columbia. Kristy was recognized for her commitment to the University of Missouri Extension 4-H youth development program.

“It is our great pleasure to honor Kristy with the Naomi Crouch Award for her dedication to Missouri 4-H,” said Cheryl Reams, executive director of the Missouri 4-H Foundation. “Volunteers like Kristy have made Missouri 4-H the quality experience that it is today, and we are indebted to Kristy for her service.”

Kristy Eggleston-Wood has dedicated more than 20 years of service to the Scotland County 4-H program. She currently serves on the Scotland County 4-H Council as president and the 4-H Extension Council as secretary. She is a 4-H club leader and parent, a 4-H chairman and member of several county committees and the 4-H/FFA Swine and Art Hall superintendent.

Through Kristy’s leadership efforts, Scotland County 4-H programs have raised significant support from their community. Kristy leads by example and, in turn, gains the trust and respect of her fellow volunteers, community members, program partners and 4-H members.

The Naomi Crouch Leadership Award is given annually to volunteers and organizations that devote their time and talents to MU Extension’s 4-H youth development programs. The award is named for Naomi Crouch, a Plattsburg native who was an active 4-H volunteer and Missouri 4-H Foundation trustee for more than 20 years.

Celebrating 64 years of service to 4-H youth, the Missouri 4-H Foundation secures funds for the Missouri 4-H youth development program, provides higher education scholarships and recognizes 4-H volunteers. For more information, go to
