BUFFALO, Mo. – The Dallas County Beef Cow Camp for youth ages 8 and older will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.
University of Missouri Extension, Missouri 4-H and Missouri Cattlemen’s Association sponsor the event.
The camp provides tips and education on tying knots, washing and grooming cattle, and showmanship, according to MU Extension livestock specialist Andrew McCorkill. A guest speaker will talk about cuts of meat and careers in the meat industry.
Register by May 27 at the MU Extension Center in Dallas County. The $5 fee can be sent to P.O. Box 1070, Buffalo, MO 65622. The fee includes a T-shirt, lunch and prizes.
Late registration will be accepted until the morning of the event for $10 if space permits. T-shirts are not guaranteed for those who register late. Registration and required health forms are available at www.extension.missouri.edu/dallas.
